8ste Internationaal Franz Liszt Pianoconcours
De Hongaars/Oekraïense Anzhelika Fuks (1987) mocht op 12 april 2008 de Derde Prijs van het 8ste Internationaal Franz Liszt Pianoconcours in ontvangst nemen. Als onderdeel van haar prijs is Anzhelika nog regelmatig in Nederland en daarbuiten te bewonderen.
In 2009 maakte zij, op uitnodiging van het vermaarde Musical Olympus Festival, haar debuut met het St. Petersburg Philharmonisch Orkest. Ook werd zij uitgenodigd haar opwachting te maken in de Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile (Italië) en deel te nemen aan de Klavier-Akademie bei Liszt in Weimar. Voorts maakte ze onder meer een uitgebreide concerttournee door heel China en Zuid-Amerika. In oktober nam zij deel aan de masterclass van Andrea Bonatta in Utrecht als onderdeel van het 3de Liszt in Vredenburg Festival.
Haar eerste muzikale scholing kreeg Anzhelika op de plaatselijke muziekschool in Užhorod, Oekraïne. In 2002 ging ze naar het conservatorium, waar ze les kreeg van A. Rosijskaja en S. Majdank. In 2005 verhuisde Anzhelika naar Hongarije om te gaan studeren aan de Liszt Academy van Boedapest, waar zij nog steeds haar studie volgt. Haar docenten zijn Attila Némethy, Sándor Falvay en Balázs Szokolay.
Anzhelika heeft al vele solorecitals gegeven en bij verschillende gelegenheden opgetreden met kamer- en symfonieorkesten in Užhorod, Kiev, Donetsk, Nyíregyháza, Tokaj en Boedapest. Zij heeft met succes deelgenomen aan verschillende internationale pianoconcoursen, waaronder het Concours van Kyiv-Vorsel (Eerste Prijs), het Užhorod Festival van Zakarpatija (Grand Prix) en het Concours van Donetsk ter ere van de 110de geboortedag van S. Prokofiev (Tweede Prijs) en het 2008 Yamaha Concours in Boedapest (Eerste Prijs).

She came, she conquered. [..] What we heard was a stunning performance all round. Like a great actress, Fuks gave all her emotion, all her passion (missing few notes in the process, miraculously few), and this while remaining in perfect control the entire time. A modern day Ophelia, long hair tied back by black ribbon, her eyes went heavenward from time to time, an effect pianists manner, but Fuks is the genuine article. She gave it her all, physically, emotionally, and her Sonata in B Minor was magnificent as a result. At a mere 22, her emotional maturity, and pianistic experience are above and beyond the norm. Fuks has clearly analyzed and digested the structure of the piece, the relationship between architecture and ornament within it, soaring above the difficulty of the notes with rhythmic clarity, steadfast and yet full of musical temperment. She has a wonderful pedal technique and used it very well on the Fazioli concert grand to traverse the bridges and changes of emotion in the piece: from the jaws of hell, limberly climbing Jacob's ladder up to the gates of heaven.The last single bass note was a whisper of melancholy, decidedly timed. Then, gasping for breath and fighting back tears, Fuks returned to the room as it were, looking up in abandon to see a standing ovation greet her from the hall.
