Masataka Goto winner 9th Liszt Competition

The First Prize of the 9th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition has been unanimously awarded by the international jury to Masataka Goto. Olga Kozlova received Second Prize and Oleksandr Poliykov won the Third Prize.

Olga Kozlova was also awarded the Press Prize for her performance during the Semi-final. The Henk de By Incentive Prize, awarded by the jury for the best competitor up to and including 21 years of age (excluding the finalists), was awarded to Yen Yu Chen (1994) from Taiwan/RoC. The audience in the hall voted for Masataka Goto to win the Van Lanschot Bankiers Audience Award and the Prize of the Junior Jury, a new initiative by the City of Utrecht and the Liszt Competition, was awarded to Masataka Goto.

The Prizes have been awarded by the Mayor of Utrecht, Mr. A. Wolfsen, at the end of the Final Gala evening, on Saturday 9 April in Vredenburg Leidsche Rijn in Utrecht.
