Prize winners announced!
The International Jury of the Liszt Competition announced the three candidates who made it through to the Finals. Mariam Batsashvili (1993, Georgia), Mengjie Han (1989, The Netherlands) and Peter Klimo (1990, United States) will compete for the prizes on 6 and 8 November in TivoliVredenburg. This is the first time in nine years that a Dutch candidate has become one of the Finalists.
The International Press Jury also awarded the Press Prize -- for the best interpretation of the recital programme during the Semi-Finals -- to Mariam Batsashvili. Music journalists from China, Korea, Germany, the United States and The Netherlands are members of this jury.
Joop Daalmeijer, Chairman of the International Jury of the 10th Liszt Competition, spoke of the exceptionally high level among the Semi-finalists.
