Dmitri Alexeev

Since becoming unanimous winner of the Leeds International Competition in 1975 the Russian pianist Dmitri Alexeev has been a regular performer in concert halls worldwide. He has appeared with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic, the Orchestre de Paris, all the London orchestras and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Alexeev is also in great demand for recitals. Alexeev has recorded a variety of CDs for labels including EMI, Virgin Classics and Hyperion. His recording of the complete Rachmaninoff Preludes won an Edison Award in the Netherlands.

Besides the International Piano Competition held every three years, the Liszt Competition also hosts a number of other concerts and events.
