Janina Fialkowska

The Canadian pianist Janina Fialkowska has been entrancing audiences all over the world for fourty years. Her career was launched in 1974, when Arthur Rubinstein became her mentor after she won a silver medal at the Rubinstein Competition. She has played with top orchestras including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. Her standing was further enhanced by a series of important premieres, including the newly discovered Third Piano Concerto of Franz Liszt with the Chicago Symphony in 1990. She organises her International Piano Academy in Bavaria every year.

Besides the International Piano Competition held every three years, the Liszt Competition also hosts a number of other concerts and events.
