Next to an international competition, Liszt Utrecht also offers emerging Dutch talents an opportunity to perform. In 2022 it will host the first edition of NLiszt. After an online selection round, five pianists between 16 and 21 years years old will be invited to give a recital as part of the Festival phase of Liszt Utrecht. The jury will select one pianist who will receive the ‘Henk de By’ award and an opportunity to perform with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra during the Finals of Liszt Utrecht.


The five selected pianists for NLiszt 2022 are:
  • Maxim Heijmerink
  • Philip Karmanov
  • Young-Jae Kim
  • Alfredo van de Munt
  • Radu Ratering


Online Selection round

A performance of maximum 15 minutes - free choice of repertoire.


Free choice of repertoire (max 40 minutes) but including:
• One work of Franz Liszt;
• One song of Franz Schubert transcripted by Franz Liszt  

Winners concert

During the finals of Liszt Utrecht the winner will perform with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra the obligatory work of Franz Liszt: Hungarian Fantasie, S.123.
