Yingdi Sun

Yingdi Sun won first prize at the 7th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 2005. He is currently one of the most highly esteemed pianists in China, where he performs regularly with leading orchestras and in major venues. With composer/conductor Tan Dun he has worked with the New Zealand Symphony, Melbourne Symphony, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie. In 2015 he worked with Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra. Additionally, with his ‘Major Trio’ he was the principal guest at the International Chamber Music Festival China in Beijing and the Shanghai Spring Music Festival. In 2015 he performed in front of both President Putin and President Obama.

Besides the International Piano Competition held every three years, the Liszt Competition also hosts a number of other concerts and events.
