Second prize winner 11th Liszt Competition

On 21 October 2017 Minsoo won Second Prize at the 11th Liszt International Competition in Utrecht. He received this prize in the main hall of TivoliVredenburg after a performance with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Markus Stenz. He immediately embarked on a tour of the Netherlands.

As part of the Career Development Programme offered by the Liszt Competition he can look forward to many future engagements including appearances as soloist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra in the Seoul Arts Centre. As well as recitals in around the world including Brazil, the United States, Norway, Germany and the Netherlands.

Born in 1993 in Busan South Korea, Minsoo studied at the Korean National University of Arts with Prof. Daejin Kim and is currently studying at Hochschule für Musik with Prof. A. Perl.
Minsoo has given concerts in China, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Morocco, United States, South Korea and Switzerland. Highlights include concerts with the Seoul, Busan and Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestras, the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra as well as performances at the Salle Cortot in Paris.

He has won numerous awards including two times the 4th prize at the Busoni International Piano Competition (2011 and 2015).
