Meet the candidates of Liszt 26!

ALBERTO FERRO

• Piano teacher at the “Franco Vittadini” Conservatory in Pavia since 2024.
• Winner of the Telekom Beethoven Competition (2017), as well as prizewinner at the Busoni (2015), the Queen Elisabeth (2016) and Rubinstein (2023) Competitions. 


THOMAS KELLY

• Studied at the Royal College of Music with Andrew Ball, Dmitri Alexeev, and Vanessa Latarche (2017–2024).
• Prizewinner at the Leeds (2021) and Hastings (2022) competitions.
• Current Benjamin Britten Fellow (2023-2026) and receipt of the Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother Rose Bowl


KANG TAE KIM

• Master at the Universität der Künste Berlin with Markus Groh (since 2023).
• Bachelor at Seoul National University with Hee Sung Joo (2016–2021).
• Prizewinner at the Takamatsu (2018) and ISANGYUN (2019) competitions.


MINKYU KIM

• Studied at Seoul National University with Hyung-Joon Chang (2013–2017).
• Studied at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Aaron Shorr and Sinae Lee (2017–2024).
• As a researcher, he works for the the Liszt Society (UK), and is currently finishing with a complete thematic catalogue of the works of Franz Liszt with Leslie Howard.


SUNAH KIM

• Studies at Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with Pavel Gililov (since 2018).
• Prize winner at the Liszt Weimar-Bayreuth (2017), Tchaikovsky (2017), Zuhai Mozart (2023), Classic Piano Dubai (2024) competitions.
• Scholarship from the Song Gang Foundation (2016–2025).


RUNE LEICHT LUND

• Master at Ingesund Academy with Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist
• Bachelor at Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien with Jura Margulis (2020-2025).
• Prizewinner at Liszt Weimar–Bayreuth (2021) and Rosario Marciano (2023) competitions.• Recipient of the Jacob Gade Talent Scholarship and the Betty & Valdemar Van Hauens Scholarship.


XINGYU LU

• Studies at University for Music, Drama and Media in Hannover with Bernd Goetzke (since 2015)
• Studied at Central Conservatory of Music Beijing with Zhou Guangren (2009 – 2012)
• Prizewinner at Gina Bachauer Junior (2012) Busoni (2017), Città di Cantù (2017) and Horowitz (2021) competitions


CHIA-YANG HSU

• Studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with Prof. Stepan Simonian (since 2020).
• Studied at the Xiamen Music School and Shanghai Conservatory.
• Prize Winner at at Liszt Weimar–Bayreuth (2024) and New York Liszt in Carnegie Hall (2025) competitions.
